Meet Praful Zala - Photographer, San Ramon Resident
I first discovered the beautiful photography of San Ramon's Praful Zala on a local Facebook group. I enjoyed viewing his photographs and reading the kind responses to all of the compliments he gets!
I had the pleasure of interviewing Praful and getting to know him. I hope you enjoy his work and getting to know a little about him too!
How Long Have You Lived in San Ramon? Where Was Home Before You Moved Here? Tell Me About It.
We have lived in San Ramon for 18 years. We moved from Antioch.
My son started school here at Bollinger Canyon Elementary School then to middle school at Iron Horse Middle School and then California High School. He just recently graduated from SJSU majoring in Business.
My wife works at home managing our online travel business at www.jamaicavacation.com where you can book vacations to the Caribbean and Mexico.
What and Where Are Your Favorite Subjects to Photograph?
I mostly love to take picture of anything but night long exposure photography attracted me a lot in the beginning, I love landscape, people photography, architecture photography etc. and interested in taking real estate photography if I get the opportunity!
What is Something Most People Don't Know About You?
My all Facebook friends only know about my photography passion but I love hiking, biking, making people laugh by telling jokes, humor, and karaoke singing of Bollywood songs etc.
What Are Your Future Goals?
My future plan is to visit and photograph Europe, Iceland (capture Northern Lights), India, Africa, and if possible to capture world's top five wonders! I was approached by Blackhawk Plaza Art Gallery to showcase my photography, so that is something I would like to do.
When Did You First Become Interested in Photography?
I became interested in photography a very very long time ago but became serious five years ago.
Skills are something to learn every day, never enough. Whenever I am taking a shot before I click, I make sure that frame is perfect, composition is good and focus is clear.
Why Did You Choose San Ramon as Your Hometown?
The school districts are very good, I like that the whole infrastructure of the town is excellent, new Windermere communities, Blackhawk communities, hills etc. are very beautiful.
What Do You Love Most About San Ramon?
I love everything! Mainly beautiful valley, trails, views, golf courses, town, good people etc.
